Marine Engine Abnormal Vibration: Common Causes and Inspection
Abnormal marine engine vibration can result from cylinder power imbalance, misfiring, fuel injection faults, bearing distress, alignment problems, loose foundation bolts, crankshaft issues, turbocharger problems, or damaged rotating components. Diagnosis should separate combustion vibration from mechanical vibration.
